Are you stuck in your past? Most days I have to fight my thoughts and feeling from the past. Do you need something to help you move forward with determination too? It’s hard to stay hopeful and encouraged when things aren’t going the way you planned. In this video, I share how to learn the best is yet to come from the incredible story of Ruth.
What Is The Main Message of the Story of Ruth?
For me, this is the most significant and charming book of the Bible. The book of Ruth explains like no other Scripture, the mission and meaning of a Kinsman Redeemer.
In Chapter one, Naomi (means pleasant), her husband, and two sons leave Bethlehem due to a famine. They choose to run to Moab. While there for ten years her two sons marry Moabite women (Orpah and Ruth) and her husband and sons die. After ten years, Naomi returns to Bethlehem and Ruth is determined to stay with her. Ruth’s determination is very impressive.
- In Chapter Two, Ruth gleans the fields of Boaz and God supplies every need for the two widows.
- Then in Chapter Three, Naomi recognized an interesting opportunity for the story of Ruth and guides her as she makes a love request.
- In Chapter Four, we see love’s reward and how we all need a kinsman Redeemer.
Don’t miss this part of the video. Remember, all of us have chapter four in our personal stories. You and I are blessed to have a personal Redeemer too. Have you asked the Redeemer into your life? Right now is the perfect time to pause, pray, repent, and invite the Lord your Redeemer into your life.

What Can We Learn from the Story of Ruth?
- We receive blessings when we are guided in our actions by our faithfulness to God.
- God demonstrates His love for us in spite of our circumstances.
- God’s kindness and goodness have purpose and complete his plans.
- No matter how horrible our situation may currently be, we can trust God to protect us.
God Is Making All Things New
I’ve chosen Revelation 21:5 for our memory verse to go along with the story of Ruth. Now, let’s get started.
“He who was seated on the throne said,
“I am making everything new!”
Praise the Lord. I'm learning from the story of Ruth, God has a solution before we have the problem! #JaymeLeeHull Share on X
How To Become Determined from the Story of Ruth
Right from the beginning, we read about Ruth’s determination to stay with Naomi and follow her God. We see how Ruth wasn’t allowing anything or circumstances to separate her from God. We need to pause and notice how God didn’t allow anything to stop Him from accepting her worship or giving his blessing on her life. Our God is a good God.
Be encouraged. God shows no partiality. The story of Ruth is the perfect example of someone who was an outsider coming inside to her new faith, and God loved her and blessed her. In chapter four she becomes the great-grandmother of King David and in the lineage of Jesus. (Matthew 1:5) Praise the Lord! We are learning the best is yet to come from the story of Ruth.
Who Are You in the Story of Ruth?
Are you Naomi? Maybe you are facing hardships and discouragement, bitterness, doubting, and feelings of hopelessness.
Are you Ruth? Are you facing hardships but still hopeful, determined, faithful, and confident in the Lord?
Do you need a Ruth to come into your life to build your courage to remain faithful?
Are you a Naomi who experienced life in chapter one but now in this season of life, you are finally living life in a new chapter four? Are you ready to pour into the next generation and share your faith?
Boaz represents a Kinsman Redeemer. Do you need the Redeemer, Jesus Christ? Praying to invite Jesus Christ your Redeemer into your life is simple. You don’t need fancy words or a perfect life. All you need to do is pause, pray, repent in your own words and invite Jesus into your life. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day for you to have eternal life. He’s waiting for his personal invitation from you to come into your life.
How To Learn the Best Is Yet To Come from the Story of Ruth
Today we need to connect the dots of the three people from the story of Ruth and become determined to live a faithful life with the Lord Jesus Christ our Redeemer and Savior. Will you connect with someone from across the generation gap and pour into them as you begin a mentoring relationship centered around the Lord Jesus your Redeemer?
I’d love to hear where you are in your faith journey. Let me know how I can pray for you.
