What are you doing this very moment? What are you thinking right now?
Ever look back on the last five years of your life and think, “Man I wish I would have enjoyed that time a little more rather than being worried about__________!”
I’ll admit, this is a struggle for me. I’m a planner, a future-thinker. I’m constantly looking to see what God’s going to do next in my life rather than look at what He’s doing now. I’ll allow myself to long for the next stage of life rather than enjoy the simplicity of today. Too often I daydream about what could be, rather than living right now and enjoying the moment. Scripture tells us,
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Matthew 6:34a
God encourages us as believers to plan life according to His word; however, if constant planning and dreaming about the future breeds discontentment with today then you and I have lost sight of what’s important. He calls us to enjoy today and intentionally invest in those around us. He also encourages us to breathe in one breathe at a time enjoying the crispness of today.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.” Hebrews 10:24-25
Let’s be in the “habit” of meeting together and spurring one another on towards the goal of pleasing the Lord and advancing His kingdom. We will be blessed when we help each other fight the battles we are currently facing. We will grow as we invest in today’s circumstances that He has created for us.
You and I are accountable for the influence we have on those around us. Grasp onto each moment He allows you with those closest in your life. Bask in silence, soak up His peace. So as I remind myself daily, I will remind you: Enjoy the Moment, Live in the Now.
Let’s invest in today’s circumstance God has created for us. You and I are accountable for the influence we have on those around us.
I’m learning day by day to grasp each moment He allows me with those closest to me.
Bask in silence.
Soak up His peace.
So as I remind myself daily, I will remind you: Enjoy the Moment, Live in the Now.
