Does it ever feel like your life is a mess of pieces that don’t fit together to make the beautiful picture you hoped?  As kids, we all loved to play connect the dots.  You grabbed your favorite color from the crayon box and worked those pages with excitement, never quite knowing what the picture would look like in the end.  Life is kind of like that.  Each part of our life is a dot that God is connecting.  You can trust that God’s plan for your life will connect the dots into a beautiful masterpiece just like I trust God’s plan for my life.

Be Encouraged! God’s Plan for Your Life is Connecting The Dots

Did you know God is connecting the dots of your life? He has a master plan for all of us and longs to encourage you. He cares about you and me and knows us each by name. It’s impossible to see our lives from the past, present, and future but not for God! Be encouraged! God sees the Big Picture from His perspective!

You really can trust that God’s plan for your life will connect the dots. But maybe you are doubting and have some questions:

  • How do I know God’s plan for my life?
  • What does the Bible say about God’s plan for my life?
  • Does God have a specific plan for my life?
  • Where does the Bible say God has a plan for my life?
  • Can you ruin God’s plan for your life?
  • How do you know God’s purpose for your life?

What Does the Bible Say About God’s Plan For My Life?

God has a plan.  Having God’s perspective on life is the secret to peace.  Peace is what we need while we are waiting on God to connect all the dots.

If you are asking, “Does God have a specific plan for my life?” or, “Where does the Bible say God has a plan for my life?”.  These are two of my favorite trusting GOd’s plan for my life Bible verses!

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 

God has a plan.  Understanding God’s plan and following God’s plan for your life doesn’t always have to go hand in hand.  To keep following HIM, you just have to remember that your identity is not in who you are or what you do but who you are in Christ!
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17 NIV 
God turns hard things into good all the time and He holds all the things together in a beautiful way!

3 Ways to Be Encouraged as You Wait on the Lord:

God has a plan for your life!  The trouble is that His timing is not our timing.  Trusting God’s plan for my life requires a bit of waiting.  Here are 3 ways you can be encouraged as you wait on the lord to continue connecting the dots in your life.

  1. Spend time in God’s Word
  2. Create your life timeline and see how God has been working
  3. Take the time to reflect on the goodness of God with a thankful heart in prayer.

Spend Time in God’s Word

Waiting on God is a part of the Christian life.  It is in the waiting time that we get to know God and His character. Who He is will bless us!

Create your life timeline and see how God has been working

This is how you create a timeline:

  1. Draw a line and put two dots at the beginning and end.
    • The dots represent your birth and today.
  2. Next, add dots of important things in your life.
    • Each dot will reveal what God has been doing in your past.

Reflect with Thanksgiving

Take the time to reflect on the goodness of God with a thankful heart in prayer.

Even the hard things in your life are blessings from the Lord. Look over the timeline to see what God is doing and how He is using each thing.
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

 Your Thoughts Matter

If you are having a hard time finding ways to thank God for the harder things on your timeline, it may be time to adjust your thoughts.
When I am searching for God’s plan for my life, this verse helps me stay focused.  
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV
Think about the good things and see how God connects the dots in God’s plan for your life.

God’s Peace Comes With Practice

Notice the reward of right thinking we find in Philippians 4:9.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9 NIV
 
Put these things into practice knowing God and seeing how He connects the dots of your life for blessings to you and others.
God is our very best friend – get to know Him, make it a life practice.
 
You need the peace of God to get through what you’re going through but don’t forget He is the God of peace. Peace isn’t what He gives you, it is what He is to and for you.

Part Two: Align Yourself With God for His Peace

God sees you and knows you by name. He cares about you and will never leave you.

If you will align yourselves with God, the peace of God will surround you.  
 
Align means to bring into a range or a line, cooperation, to join with, fall into line with.
I love how the Bible says this!
 
“Notice the way God does things, then fall into lineEcclesiastes 7:8a

God See’s You

 The God of the universe see’s you and knows you by name. He is in control.
 
If your dots in life are not connecting, and you can’t see what He’s doing, you can still trust Him.
 
Take Joseph’s story, for example, starting in Genesis 37.  Joseph lived 13 years in difficulty but in the end (Genesis 50:20) we see that Joseph realized the many ways God turning all the difficulties into good in the end.
 
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20 NIV
Remember: But God intends even the hard things for good
 
God does connect the dots. When we line up with God and trust Him we see Him connecting the dots for our good and His glory we can glorify Him.

God’s plan for your life is a great adventure.  He is your best friend and you can trust Him.
Be aligned with God and stay there. Spend time being thankful for the ways He is connecting the dots in your story.  
Align yourself with God’s perspective and you will see how all the hard things are falling into place as He connects the dots of your life!
