“and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in clothes and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7
It’s time to unpack and unwrap the decorations, set up the train set and begin playing our favorite Christmas CD’s and DVD’s. But, let’s not forget the Christ in Christmas. Take a moment to place your nativity set in a prominent place in your home and a frame or two of the great Bible verses that tell the real meaning of Christmas.
As we decorate our house inside and out with lights we are reminded of the stars God created. Our lights represent the wonder of stars that shine so bright each night. All of us seek to live in the light that shines, just like the wise men from the East followed the star so bright.
This Christmas as we prepare for December 25th, let’s start everyday with a verse to remind us of the reason for the season. Take your Bible off the shelf and get reacquainted with the Word of God and the Savior born in a manger to save the world.

Luke 2:10-12
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Thought for December 1st: I will not be afraid. Jesus is my great joy!
Action for Today: Place a nativity scene in a special location in my home.
FIVE-minute Bible Reading: Luke 1: 26-56 and 2:1-20
