“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3:13 (NIV)
Do you need a little encouragement? Are you ready for things to change? Do you need a healthier life, healthier family or healthier church? The Bible teaches principles in which we can apply to our daily lives to change the negative and discouraging atmosphere to a more positive and encouraging healthy surroundings.
First, as you wake up and start your day, before your feet hit the ground, take just 30 seconds and tell God thanks for the new day and His new mercies. Then give Him control of your agenda and you are off to a great start.
DAILY START example:
Good Morning God! Thank you for another day. Thank you for giving me my next breath. I give You complete permission to lead me through today. Love you Lord!!!
Lamentations 3:22-23 “Because of the Lord’s love we ae not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Psalm 5:3 “In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; in the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.”
Second, change your attitude and use encouraging words each day. Use encouraging words to lift up others. Your family will be healthier as you encourage them in the little things and give them a high five on something small. You will be amazed at the positive impact you will have on those around you at work and in the public as you smile and say something uplifting. Your encouraging words will soften hearts and give the hopeless and discouraged hope and health.
DAILY CHANGE example:
I can see you’re really trying to change and I appreciate your hard
work. Your effort to change things is so encouraging to us. Thanks a lot!
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.”
Romans 14:19 “So then let us pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.”
Third, be specific with your words of praise and celebrate with others. Be aware of what encourages you and encourage others in that same way.
DAILY PRAISE example:
Congratulations! The neighbors told us how well you did in the 5K race yesterday. I know you worked really hard to reach that goal and I’m so inspired by your dedication.
1 Thessalonians 5:6 “ Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard). (AMP)
Begin this week with a plan of determination to be known by others as an encourager. As you encourage others throughout the year wherever you go you will be encouraged as well. This is a win-win way to Looking Up in January.
